Shell-and-tube heat exchangers are the most classic and widely used type of indirect heat exchanger in the industrial field. They are renowned for their robust structure, high reliability, strong adaptability, and large throughput.
1. Tube Bundle – The Heart of Heat Exchange
The heat exchange tubes are the core heat transfer surface. Their material (carbon steel, stainless steel, copper alloy, titanium, etc.), diameter, wall thickness, and length directly affect heat transfer efficiency, corrosion resistance, and cost.
Arrangements include equilateral triangles (compact, high heat transfer) and squares (facilitating shell-side mechanical cleaning), etc.
2. Tube Sheet – Key to Pressure Resistance and Sealing
